7. Your licence to FCC
As between you and FCC, you retain ownership of the Content you provide. By posting or uploading Content to FCC Connect, you grant FCC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, display, reproduce, and process that Content solely as necessary to operate, provide, secure, moderate, and improve FCC Connect.

This may include names, organisations, roles, expertise, availability, contact information, initiative descriptions, collaboration interests, invitations, and event registration information where needed for legitimate platform use.
Staff of FCC and authorised Partner Organisation users may use visible profile information to identify relevant expertise, invite users to collaborate, coordinate initiatives, contact users about FCC Connect activities, and support conservation-related work. Contact information obtained through FCC Connect must not be used for unrelated private, commercial, recruiting, competitive, or external purposes.
9. Platform features
FCC Connect may provide member profiles, initiative pages, document uploads, matching suggestions, expressions of interest, collaboration invitations, notifications, activity logs, event registration workflows, feedback tools, and administrative tools.
You acknowledge that Content may be provided by other users. FCC is not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of user-provided Content, except where FCC is legally responsible under applicable law. You are responsible for assessing information before relying on it.
10. Service availability and modifications
FCC aims to provide a reliable and useful service but does not guarantee uninterrupted access or permanent availability of any specific feature. FCC Connect is provided free of charge on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
FCC may change, suspend, restrict, or discontinue parts of FCC Connect at any time for operational, security, legal, funding, maintenance, or strategic reasons. FCC will make reasonable efforts to notify users in advance where practical.
11. Intellectual property rights
FCC reserves all rights in FCC Connect, including software, design, database structure, logos, trademarks, text, and other materials provided by FCC. You may not copy, reuse, or exploit FCC intellectual property without FCC's prior written consent, except where permitted by law or necessary for normal use of FCC Connect.
12. Limits on use
You must not misuse FCC Connect. In particular, you must not scrape data, harvest contact details, build external databases from platform content, use platform information to create competing structures, upload unlawful or harmful Content, bypass access controls, interfere with security, or use FCC Connect for unrelated commercial or private purposes.
FCC may limit, suspend, or block access where necessary to protect users, data, platform integrity, legal compliance, or FCC's legitimate interests.
13. Content moderation and reporting
FCC may review, moderate, remove, block, or restrict Content that violates these Terms, the Code of Conduct, applicable law, third-party rights, or the purpose of FCC Connect. Moderation may be based on user reports, administrator review, or technical security checks.
If you see Content that you believe is illegal, inappropriate, or in breach of these Terms, please report it to FCC by email at info@frankfurtconservation.org. Please include a clear explanation, the relevant URL or location, your contact details, and any information needed to identify the issue.
If FCC restricts your Content or account, FCC will inform you of the decision and reasons where legally and operationally possible. You may object by contacting FCC.

FCC is responsible for its own Content according to statutory provisions. FCC does not assume responsibility for the accuracy, relevance, availability, or completeness of Content provided by users or third parties, unless required by applicable law.
The parties are liable to each other according to applicable law. Claims for ordinary negligence are limited to foreseeable damage typical for this type of service. This limitation does not apply to damages caused by intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body, or health, violation of fundamental contractual obligations, or where limitation is not permitted by law.
You agree to indemnify FCC against third-party claims arising from your culpable breach of these Terms, unlawful use of FCC Connect, or violation of third-party rights through Content you provide.
15. Termination and account closure
These Terms apply for as long as you have an account or otherwise use FCC Connect. You may terminate your use at any time by contacting FCC and requesting account closure.
FCC may terminate these Terms with two weeks' notice. FCC may also suspend or terminate access without notice for cause, including serious breaches of these Terms, false identity information, illegal Content, misuse of contact details, unauthorised commercial use, data scraping, or conduct that threatens the security or integrity of FCC Connect.
Upon termination, your right to access FCC Connect ends. Personal data will be deleted or anonymised according to the Privacy Policy and statutory retention duties. Content that forms part of collaboration history may be retained or anonymised where necessary to preserve context, legal records, or platform integrity.
16. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. The exclusive place of jurisdiction for disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms is Frankfurt am Main, Germany, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
17. General terms
If any provision of these Terms is or becomes invalid, the remaining provisions remain valid. Failure to enforce a provision does not waive FCC's right to enforce it later. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without FCC's prior written consent.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Code of Conduct, form the agreement governing your use of FCC Connect.
